Audit support & audit firm cooperation
Already have an auditor, or preparing to appoint one? We work with audit firms and help organise the financial information and communication needed for the audit.
How Stämkoll helps
We prepare reconciliations, year-end schedules and supporting records, coordinate questions with your existing auditor, and can introduce your business to an audit firm with authorised auditors when needed.
Stämkoll provides accounting and preparation support. The independent audit and audit opinion are the responsibility of the appointed auditor, not Stämkoll.
When does a Swedish private limited company need an auditor?
The size-based requirement normally applies when the same two or more thresholds below have been exceeded in each of the two most recent financial years:
- An average of more than 3 employees
- Total assets exceeding SEK 1.5 million
- Net turnover exceeding SEK 3 million
Timing and other requirements
The size-based requirement normally applies from the following financial year; for a newly formed company, this is at the earliest its third financial year. Articles of association, group circumstances and special legislation can create additional requirements. A company may also appoint an auditor voluntarily.

Authorised and approved auditors
An auditor for a smaller limited company may be authorised or approved under Swedish rules. Larger and public limited companies are subject to specific requirements for an authorised auditor. We can help you coordinate with a suitable audit firm.
